Hi Toroa, In the weekend I did a rainbow scavenger hunt with my son Luca. Maybe you could try one at your house too? We hunted around inside our house to see what objects we could find for each of the colours that he had chosen. This is what we were trying to create:

Here is a picture of him trying to lay them out on the ground in a rainbow shape (he needed lots of help because he is two!).
Can you count how many objects you found for each colour? Can you write those numbers in order from smallest to biggest? How many objects did you find altogether? Can you write that number? Which colour did you find the most objects/the least objects for? Which is the biggest object/smallest object that you found? I'd love to see any photos of your rainbows.
Wow, Mrs Josland, what a great activity you have done with Luca. That looks like lots of fun and a challenge! I look forward to seeing pictures of any Toroa children trying this at their homes. Thank you for sharing. From Robbie.
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs Josland! This is a really cool activity that you did over the weekend. I bet Luca really enjoyed it! You managed to find lots of objects in different colours which is awesome. I will have to see how many I can find in each colour at my house.

Mrs Josland and Luca, what a really cool rainbow using all the colourful things in your house.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing it with us. This looks like lots of fun to do :) I also like how 2 year year old Luca does his best to help Mummy make a rainbow. Keep it up Luca.
Mrs Josland, does Luca have a favourite toy amongst all these colourful toys?
From Miss Muriel
That is a fabulous idea Mrs Josland ... you both worked well together collecting the colours and sorting them!!
