Wigram's Learning Space Birds

During our inquiry in Term 1, we learned about the different learning space names at Wigram. We had already researched about our bird, the Toroa, and wanted to learn more about the other spaces! Each learning space is named after a different native bird and we worked hard to research and learn some facts about them.

We shared our learning using Explain Everything.

  1. Kia ora Toroa,
Did you do a bit about Toroa. We don't know that bird. Could you tell us about Toroa please?

We like your Explain Everything work. We guessed that you found pictures in a book and used the camera and then the scalpel tool or the lasso tool to cut around it. Did we guess right?

Today Room 6 is going to find images in Explain Everything to show what they did in the holidays. Visit our blog after today and see what we did.

    1. Kia ora Room 6,
Thank you for your comment and questions about our learning. We have learnt lots of things about Toroa. They mainly live around New Zealand. They are white and black birds with a yellowy beak. They can fly really fast. Toroa eat small fish and squid and can live for up to 60 years! Their wings can be up to 3 metres wide.

We will have a look at your blog now.

    2. Thank you for telling us about Toroa. We measure 3 metres to see how wide the wings would be. We will put the photo on our blog.
