Jack and the Beanstalk

During this week the big mat children have been reading and learning about Jack and the Beanstalk. We have talked about fairy tales, heroes and villains. We have practised reading paying attention to the punctuation and making our reading sound exciting. One of our favourite parts was reading the part when the giant says "Fee, fi, fo, fum. I'll eat your for breakfast. Here I come!". After our reading today we draw a collaborative picture on one long piece of paper of what happened at the beginning, middle and end of the story. Mrs Wales photocopied the pages from the story and some of us had the challenge of putting the pages in order, by looking carefully at the words and pictures. Some of us even decided to have a go at reading the whole story on our own. It was a lot of fun!
