This is a poppy wreath that my daughter Eliza made at home for her school work yesterday.
We cut a circle out of an old cardboard box. Then made a poppy template (looks a bit like a fat number 8!) and drew round it on the inside of a reusable red shopping bag.
She cut them out and used a black vivid pen to draw the middle of the poppy.
Then we glued them onto the cardboard.
The sign in the middle is another bit of card painted white.
We will hang this on our front gate. - Mrs Hefferman
Mrs H and Eliza, such a beautiful Poppy wreath. Thank you for sharing how you made it.
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs Hefferman, that is a beautiful poppy wreath that you and Eliza made this week. Did it take long to make? I bet it is going to look fantastic on your front gate.
ReplyDeleteMrs Horner :)
Hi Mrs Horner, I think the part that took the longest was waiting for the glue to dry and cutting out the poppies. We will be getting up early tomorrow as we usually go to an ANZAC dawn service, and we still want to pay our respects.
DeleteWhat a cool activity. I wonder how others will celebrate ANZAC day this year? I know Charlotte from Kererū made some cool poppies. You can see them here https://wpscharlottew.blogspot.com/2020/04/charlottes-poppies.html

Thanks Mr Gibson, will hop onto the Kererū blog and have a look!
DeleteGreat job, Miss Muriel, Mrs Hefferman and Eliza. I really love the poppy wreath - what a great idea using an old shopping bag. Our bubble has been working on some ANZAC crafts too. You can pop over to the Ruru blog to see what we have been up to. From Petra
ReplyDeleteThanks Petra - yes we had fun making it. I hope you had a good weekend. We got up to have dawn remembrance service outside our front gate at 6am on ANZAC day. It was great to see so many people on our street doing the same thing too.
